MERRY CHRISTMAS HIGHAM

Well Ladies, nearly the end of another year. It's been a busy year for us doing more than previous years, but well worth it. Everyone seemed to enjoy christmas dinner at the Sans Pareil, we certainly did. Joan Bowler won the raffle, a lovely decorated glass yankee candle burner. We also did secret santa again. It was a lovely afternoon. I have to say, what a fantastic time we all had at the panto! I think I enjoyed it 100 times more than I thought I would, can't wait for next year Lol.
We were sad to see Joy for the last time for a while as she will be undergoing treatment for her migranes which will leave her too unwell to come to class but we will keep in touch with her and hope to see her back when she is better, good luck Joy. Also, we wish Janet Fisher a speedy recovery from her operation earlier this week, hope to see her back in class soon. We haven't forgotten either That Carole Dick celebrates a birthday on the 27th and our Jenny a special birthday on the 28th, Happy Birthday to you both.
In the new year we will be going to the craft show at Farnborough, thats March, we have an all day class in February and another weekend 'sleepover' in April, lots to look forward to.
Unfortunately due to the hall rental being increased your classes will £6 from January. We are sorry about this but the cost of utilities has risen so much that the church had no option.

I am off to Scotland for the festive period, where they are known to celebrate rather more than somewhat !!!! Pauline will be enjoying it with her family. Before we know it, classes will be on the go again. Friday January 4th will be the first class of 2013, so until then, we wish you all a wonderful christmas and a happy new year and look forward to seeing you next year. Until then here are some pictures of christmas dinner and our last class tonight.

It's beginning to look a lot like christmas !!!

Hi again everyone, a bit longer than a month has gone by, sorry about that. Since our last blog a date has been arranged for our next 'sleepover'. This time we have a much nicer venue. The Bridgewood Manor is a 4* hotel and certainly an improvement on the last time. I think everyone knows the date now is not 10th March as this is Mothers Day, so it will be saturday 13th April. Those coming need to pay their deposits now, and the balance will be due 8 weeks before we go.  Our next proposed all day class is friday 8th February, to be conifirmed. Only 2 weeks to go until panto time, whoopee. Our last class this year will be wednesday evening the 19th December, then back on friday 4th January 2013.
We expect you are all looking forward to christmas, well maybe not all of you, but most. I am of course hoping santa brings my prosthetic leg, although my real one has been a little better lately lol.
Here are the last few pictures taken in class, sorry there are not many but we kept forgetting to take any!
By the way don't forget your £5 secret santa pressie for those coming to our christmas dinner. Thanks.

Be back just before christmas, keep watching.

Craft 'Sleepover' weekend

Hi everyone,
as promised our blog will be updated every month. Well, what a weekend! We crafted for 2 days and made some amazing christmas goodies. There were raffles galore, a competition, won by Lesley B, for the best overall projects. Carole D, won the big raffle, Lesley S got her gold watch for long service!!!! It was a great weekend. There were a few 'incidents' during the night which didn't spoil it but meant some of us didn't really get much sleep. Pauline and I had about 3 hours. Nevermind, the overall feeling was that we should do it again - OMG. Well, next year anyway at a different venue.

We are going to the panto (oh no you're not I hear you shout) in December (13th) to see Aladin at the Orchard, that should be a good night. We have our next all day craft on Friday 16th November, then Christmas dinner on December 18th. It's all happening so quick.

A few of us went to Dobbies on Tuesday for afternoon tea, which was really nice, especially as it was half price. It's good to be ladies that lunch !

Here are a few pics of the craft weekend and Eileen and both the Lesleys' lovely victorian door cards. The standard of work  was brilliant, we were sooooo impressed. It's getting harder and harder to find challenges for you lol.

Until next time, enjoy your crafting.

GREAT NEWS

Hi Ladies,

Guess what? We have raised a whopping £324.50 today for the Macmillan Cancer Support ! So be proud , be very proud ! It was a great success and everybody enjoyed it. Well done everyone. We would like to say a special thankyou to Lesley and Peter who worked so hard rounding up the locals, putting up posters and doing the raffle. Also Jenny, who always monopolises the kitchen (joke) serving tea, coffee and cakes and worked so hard and Sue and Debbie who have spent weeks getting the tombola organised and did a brilliant job, thanks also to everyone who made cakes etc.,and thanks to all who came to class, all your money was donated to the fund. THANKS.

Next Friday, which isn't a normal class day, is our Stampin 'Up day, don't forget to bring any stamps or other SU products you would like to use.

The next event of course is our 'sleepover'. Despite Lesley B's best efforts, no-one knows what we have planned for the weekend, but it will be fun!

Another date for your diary is saturday 3rd November, we (Pauline and I ) are having a craft stall at the Christmas Bazaar at Istead Rise, this is always a very well attended event and apart from our stall, there is always a good variety of christmas things for sale, we will give you more details nearer the time.

Here are some pictures of the last class and some of today, more when I get them. Thanks for looking.

Good evening crafting people,
Just a flying visit to our blog while I have a few spare minutes! We have arranged a new date now for our Stampin' Up class, this will now be friday 5th October. In case you had forgotten, the idea is that we make cards just using the Stampin' Up products. So if you have got some stamps from the Stampin'Up range and would like some ideas/inspiration for using them, bring them along. We have quite a selection of papers and stamps etc., so it will be interesting to see what we come up with. It is a friday we wouldn't normally have a class so everyone is welcome, the more the merrier!
Nearly time for our all day craft class, don't forget, friday 7th September.
Traditionally we have always started making our christmas cards after the schools go back in September, and this year will be no exception. We will also continue with ordinary greetings cards as usual. Please let us know if there is anything or any occasion you would like to make cards for, we want you to be making things that you would like not just what we think of.

Hi Ladies,
apologies again, but you know why! Those of you that have had a newsletter will know the dates for all day class already, but if anyone doesn't know it's friday 7th september, the Stampin' Up date has to change as we can't have the hall on the 21st September, but we will keep you updated. We have been using the Stampin' Up products for a couple of months now and you all seem as impressed with the quality as we are. We will continue to use them as well as others. We just love the colour co-ordination, it looks so neat, clean and professional.
We are taking names for the christmas dinner now, we know it's early but the Sans Pariel gets booked very quickly so we need to get in there! The date for the meal is tuesday the 18th December, so please let us know a.s.a.p if you would like to come.

I will leave you with some pictures from the last couple of classes, enjoy.
